I am a beginner in midieval martial arts and this sword is extremely well balanced and comfortable in the hands, truly feather light. Although; even with the blunt blade, I don't think it is quite safe enough for full contact sparring, I would only recommended it for practice, drills, and free sparring at medium speed. I find it very unfortunate that Hanwei is no longer producing swords any longer. Beginners will have to spend a fortune for a decent product.
Warriors & Wonders Note:
We checked with Hanwei on July 29, 2014 about the above note that they are no longer producing blunt training swords, and were told that they are still making them.
