First you need to understand what this is not. It is not a machete, it is not front weighted like one, but it is well balanced for slashing and the tip is perfect for piercing.
It came sharp out of the box, cuts through cardboard or stiff plastic with ease, and the point

The haft is very good, feels comfortable in the hand, if it was an inch or two longer it would be a two handed grip but even as it you are not going to lose this thing if you swing it hard.
