For the price, this Waki is the type you can let your friends try out without worry of breaking the bank. Despite the blade stock girth this blade feels lively in a single hand. You could use it two handed considering how long the hilt is as well. It's almost a hand-and-a-half length hilt for my size large hands.

This hilt length works great on the Honshu Boshin Katana for balance, but I don't personally believe this Waki needed to share the exact same hilt dimensions. The scabbard is supposed to be wood but it feels more like a wood core with a plastic exterior that I actually prefer.

The Midnight Forge coating is great and should reduce the likelihood of rust developing, but we'll see how the coating and blade turns out after a proper sharpening. Note this blade did not come properly sharpened with 1/3rd of the upper blade barely showing an edge at all.
