The original Lil’ Temperance was designed by Spyderco co-founder Sal Glesser as a compact yet heavy-duty folding knife suitable for defensive use. Over the years, Sal has refined the design several times, emphasizing its utilitarian function without compromising its hell-for-stout spirit. The latest evolution of this venerable design transcends previous versions by replacing their traditional G-10 handle scales with injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN). In addition to its light weight, FRN adds the extreme grip security of a deeply molded Bi-Directional Texture pattern. Stainless steel liners nested in the scales form the foundation of the knife’s high-strength Compression Lock mechanism and anchor its broad-based, four-position pocket clip. The stout blade of the Lil’ Temperance 3 is full-flat ground from VG-10 stainless steel has a minimal ricasso to maximize its edge length.
