an exceptionally high volume of vanadium carbides in its microstructure, making it a viable alternative to solid carbide in the production of intricate industrial tool designs. In knife blades, these properties translate to
breathtaking cutting performance and edge retention. Spyderco is very proud to feature CPM 15V in several limited-edition Sprint Run expressions of select American-made models. The blades of this elite
family of knives are further enhanced by a specialized heat-treating protocol developed by acclaimed custom knifemaker Shawn Houston. Specifically tuned to each “melt” of CPM 15V, this painstaking process maximizes the
extraordinary properties of this steel to yield blades capable of extreme sharpness and unparalleled edge retention. To distinguish these remarkable knives even further, they feature brown peel-ply-textured G-10 or fiberglass-
reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales and Shawn Houston’s “Triple B” logo laser engraved on the reverse side of the blades. All other aspects of these ultra-high-performance knives are consistent with the standard configurations of
these models.
