I love this knife. Love it. I have bought many high end folding and fixed blade knives, and I love myself a high quality knife for the fit, finish and materials and yet I have never thought to review those products because they are already universally known and reviewed as high quality. This Kizer utility blade on the other hand, I feel is relatively unknown and is a MUST BUY. I was so surprised by the fit and finish and quality of this tool, that I would happily EDC this tool at home in place of my much nicer and more expensive knives - it is THAT NICE. I have a few various folding utility knives, including that ultra cheap one on amazon that has a button lock which feels really cheap, and another one that kinda opens a bit like a butterfly from ali, and although the design is sophisticated, it doesn't feel solid. What I was looking for is something that comes close to a high-end folding knife, but with a replaceable utility blade. This Kizer fits the bill. The axis lock is very well executed, and is better than my Kershaw Bel Air - it holds the blade closed very solidly unlike most axis locks which seem to hold the blade quite loosely and then locks very solidly. The opening is very nice and precise allowing thumb and middle finger flicks very easily. The micarta handle is very very nice and everything feels very high quality. Lastly the blade holding mechanism is one of the best I've seen - very solid, and yet without requiring tools to operate - you press the button that holds the blade in place and slide the blade out - the design and engineering is precise and is very high quality. To conclude, despite its low cost, I hold this Kizer in the same high regard as my best knives. The execution and fit and finish is so good, and that's what these tools are all about - it's not just about function, but feeling good and enjoying the tools you use.
