Hultafors Stalberg Carpenter Axe

Wow what an ax! Typical high quality Scandinavian craftsmanship. Such a beautiful axe. Just received today and have already chopped and split some wood. I think this will not only be a good carving axe (as it’s designed) but also a fantastic bushcraft tool for backpacking. It splits wood like a monster (for the size, it’s only a 20” axe, not a maul or a 5 pound forest axe.) My only minor niggle is the edge, it is sharp and shaves (all be it a little roughly) but the edge itself looks like a beautiful polished convex, but the absolute edge is partly a micro bevel and not quite what I was hoping. Nothing I cant address on my Chosera stones. (Again this is a minor niggle. The edge is far sharper than any hardware store axe and still absolutely functional, I just think that it is note worthy) I also want to take a minute to say W&W (Blades Canada) were their usual exemplary selves, excellent service and just a wonderful company to deal with. They are simply the best. Highly recommend the Ax and W&W.
