Does not come with a brass guard it comes with a steel guard, handle is the same as the trailmaster. A little small for my large hands but still very comfortable and ergonomic, out the box the sharpness wasn't great but but thats not an issue for me, a large blade like this doesn't need to be a straight razor. The blade length compared to the Trailmaster is what drew me to it, I loved the Trailmaster but the length was a little excessive for what I'm gonna be doing with it, this blade length is perfect, can't wait to get out in the woods to properly test it but first impressions are very good.
