Well balanced and excellent for both a mobility aid and bartitsu cane fighting. The axe head is comfy to grip while walking. The shaft feels like a hockey stick but it tapers down to a round tip. This makes it super easy to find rubber ferrules. I used a 1" rubber tip. Very happy! It put some nice holes in the cardboard shipping box with just a few love taps.
