This is s great,medium weight EDC knife. The knife came very sharp out of the box and there was no wiggle in the blade at the pivot. Maybe a bit stiff to open, but very safe for a slipjoint.
All the advantages of a slip joint...the main one being ease of closing the blade, and if needed the pin can be used to "lock" the blade open, turning this knife into a virtual fixed blade.
Only real disadvantage is it isn't a real one hand opener, though possible with practice, and maybe a bit heavy for some, but no one can dispute the ruggedness of this knife.
Being a two hand opener and not a locking blade, this knife is not going to scare the population except for maybe having a 3 1/2 inch blade.
I like it, & it is well made and looks more expensive than it is.
